Priestly Reminder
We are priests, serving our High Priest Jesus Christ
Heb 7:25-26 ESV – “25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. 26 For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.”
1 Pet 2:5, 9 ESV – “5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. … 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
- We serve the High Priest Jesus Christ who lives to intercede for us
- We are priests with responsibility to – guard, sacrifice, serve and minister to God and people, pray and intercede
- Jesus Christ is the “Living Stone” rejected by men; we are “living stones” stones – stones build nothing when not Christ and connected to other stones – intercessory prayer is stronger together
- A spiritual house – we are called to be a house of prayer – we must teach our future generations
- It always starts with us. An ARMY is built by individual soldiers working in unity and obedience through a command structure – each one matters
The battle is bigger than us
Each one of us matter, we are part of God’s Army
Luke 1:80 ESV – “And the child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the wilderness until the day of his public appearance to Israel.”
Dan 10:10-13, 20-21 ESV – “10 And behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for now I have been sent to you.” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling. 12 Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. 13 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia, … 20 Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? But now I will return to fight against the prince of Persia; and when I go out, behold, the prince of Greece will come. 21 But I will tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except Michael, your prince.”
- Don’t despise small beginnings, exercising our spirit matures us – grows and strengthens us
- God hears our prayers – continue to pray
- Before the 21-day delay, Daniel prayed for 20 years
- God provided us a look at how the spiritual battles take place over the nations
Release your words aloud
Pray, praise and worship aloud
1 Tim 2:1-5 ESV – “1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,”
Eph 6:17-18 ESV – “17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,”
Psa 149:6-9 ESV – “6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands, 7 to execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples, 8 to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron, 9 to execute on them the judgment written! This is honor for all his godly ones. Praise the LORD!”
- We intercede for our leaders – righteousness, strategy, wisdom humility, fear of the LORD
- “Rhema” – praying, praising and worshiping aloud
- Our praise and worship are weapons – We have seen this torment the enemy in our ministry
- God is the One who brings vengeance; He binds the kings and nobles – starting in the spiritual realm – then manifesting on earth
- We bless others, pray for righteousness – God brings the justice – He is a just God
- God chains and shackles our enemy in the spiritual realm; it’s the inheritance and honor of God’s children

Lev 15:31 ESV – “31 “Thus you shall keep the people of Israel separate from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness by defiling my tabernacle that is in their midst.””
