Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Terms / Definitions
- Bless/ Blessed / Curse #H1288 “barak” to bless (Gen 1:22) kneel, bend a knee, praise, salute, to curse (Gen 12:3)
- Bless / Blessed #H835 “eser” happiness, blessedness; #H833 “asar” to advance, go straight, make progress, to set right, to pronounce happy, to be advanced, made happy
- Bless / Blessing #G3107 “makarios” happiness (tied to sins forgiven Rom 4:6-8)
- Bless / Blessed #G2129 “eulogia” praise, to speak well of, invoke a blessing, to consecrate a thing

Curse and Blessing Characteristics
Prov 26:2 ESV – “Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, a curse that is causeless does not alight.”
Prov 26:2 NIV – “Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.”
Luke 6:27-28 ESV – “27 But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.”
- Blessings and curses are spiritual, are lawful and transfer via spiritual genetic code
- Blessings serve to transfer (migrate) goodness and righteousness
- Both transfer generationally and intra-generationally
- They can be active / landed or inactive / unlanded / latent
- Landed / active are always stronger than unlanded / inactive
- Both can have varying degrees of spiritual intensity and magnetism
- Intensity and magnetism draws one to the sin or righteousness; draws one to others “like attracts like”
- Varying strength / intensity is the intensity of the “drawing towards”
- Both obey the spiritual law of “sowing and reaping”
- We have free will to turn away from blessings or curses
Blessings
It’s not about what is fair, it’s about what is right
Blessings are initiated by God, holy angels and man
Prov 14:12 ESV – “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
2 Tim 1:5 ESV – “I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.”
Matt 21:19 ESV – “And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.” (God broke the blessing of Israel)
Prov 20:7 ESV – “The righteous who walks in his integrity– blessed are his children after him!”
Jas 1:25 ESV – “But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”
Matt 6:4 ESV – “so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
- Enforced by God, holy angels and man – the enemy wants to delay or stop the blessing
- Transferred generationally via godly soul ties
- Can not be broken by the enemy – only God cancels blessings
- To ensure blessing bear fruit – blessing bear righteous fruit
- Parent speaks blessing over child; Husband over wife / family; Pastor over member
- Vary in strength and intensity
- Health / long life, joy, peace, righteousness
- God fearing family lines
- Ministry anointing and church leadership
- Wealth
- Leadership
- Teach, music, sports, intellect, etc
- Deliverance breaks curses via Holy Spirit
Curses
All curses are not broken when we are born-again
Gal 3:13-14 ESV – “13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us–for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”– 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.”
Gen 27:12-13 ESV – “12 Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to be mocking him and bring a curse upon myself and not a blessing.” 13 His mother said to him, “Let your curse be on me, my son; only obey my voice, and go, bring them to me.” (Rebakah and Jacob)
Matt 15:10-11 ESV – “10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.“
- A curse is NOT a pathway of sin
- Unlanded curses attract Christians to sin
- Curses are not broken, until they are broken!
- Demons – ensure curse lands & enforces it; ensures curse transfers and bears fruit
- Curses can be breakable and unbreakable
- Curse initiators – God, oneself, Satan and demons, other men – always due to sin
- Curses are enforced by demons; the goal – to produce the fruit of the curse
- Curses offset and delay blessings
- Curses can be implicit (one cursing isn’t aware) or explicit
- Landed / Active may be referred to generational a curse or generational sin
- Active curses provide legal right to demons
- Strong sins such as witchcraft, physical murder and sexual perversion give strong legal rights
Example of activating an unlanded curse from previous generations – Great grandfather murdered or did WC.. 4 generations later, a man goes plays with a oujia board – WC lands: a women has an abortion (including a man as an accomplice) – murder curse lands
Man Curses Man
In our ignorance we curse, receive curses and curse ourselves
Jas 3:6, 8-10 ESV – “6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. … 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.”
Word Curses
Prof 18:6-7, 21 ESV – “6 A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating. 7 A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul. … 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
- Imp – Your dead to me – You’ll always be stupid – You won’t amount to anything
- Imp – I don’t know why we had you – You must be gay (lesbian)
- Imp – I hope you choke on that – You’re an idiot
- Imp – Rejecting a child in the womb – physical abuse to a child in the womb
- Imp – You need to be more like…., – Boys don’t cry.., – I’m not raising a sissy
- Imp – I swear on my mother’s …., – I’m crazy.., – She’s crazy.., – I’m sick – I hate being pretty

Action Curses
- Imp – Parents always gone
- Imp – Playing with occult items – tarot / angel cards, ouija boards, astrology, etc
- Imp – Fornication
- Imp – Sexual molestation
- Imp – Dedication to a RCC saint
- Imp – Adultery, divorce, criminal activity, addictions, poverty
- Exp – witch doctor / shaman etc does spell, sacrifices
- Exp – Satanist or witches target church / ministry leaders
- Exp – Video game programmer integrates WC into games – “press button to give your soul to Asherah / Baal”
- Exp – SRA in cult
Self-Curses / Inner Vow / Evil Self Promises
Matt 26:73-74 ESV – “73 After a little while the bystanders came up and said to Peter, “Certainly you too are one of them, for your accent betrays you.” 74 Then he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know the man.” And immediately the rooster crowed.”
Zec 5:3-4 NIV – “3 And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. 4 The LORD Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.”
- I will never marry again, I have no need for a man / woman in my life
- I hate men / women
- I hate myself
- I can never forgive myself
- I will never let anyone hurt me again (abuse)
- A fearful person isolates themselves
Satan and Demons Curse
Act 16:16 ESV – “As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination (pythos) and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling.”
- Indwelling demon tells a person’s mind “you are worthless” or “you should kill yourself”
- Women or man accepts “gift” of manipulation – sexual, physical, psychological, etc.
- Uses gift from Father God (Rom 12) for ungodly purposes “familiar spirit”
- Demon tells a DM – “I’m going to eat you”, I’m going to kill you”, “You’re going to be sorry”
God Curses
God’s curses are always active
Deut 23:2 ESV – “No one born of a forbidden union may enter the assembly of the LORD. Even to the tenth generation, none of his descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD.”
Jer 17:5, 7 ESV – “5 Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. … 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.”
- Unb – Original sin – physical death (Gen 3:19, Rom 5:12)
- Unb – Desire to rule over husband, labor pains (Gen 3:16)
- Unb – Ground cursed, toil/work (Gen 3:17)
- Unb – Satan and fallen angels cursed (Gen 3:14-15, Jude 1:6)
- Brk – Curse of illegitimacy (Deu 23:2)
- Brk – Nation of Israel (Matt 21:19)

Breaking curses and deliverance is a miracle of God
Mar 9:39 ESV – “But Jesus said, “Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me.”
Break Oaths and Curses Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. I put my trust in You alone for my salvation. I repent of my sins and ask that You grant me repentance. Your precious blood covers my sin. I claim the freedom You promised from sin and torment.
Holy Spirit reveal to me any spiritual root associated with those who cursed me, and when I have cursed myself either by word or action, in ignorance or deliberately. And, bring to my mind any infirmity or pain associated with these curses, so I may come out of agreement with them.
I confess I cursed others made in Your image. I cursed and spoke words of hatred, condemnation and death over others and myself. I confess of the hatred and destructive thoughts I spoke, attacks against others physical and mental health, life, beauty and success. Jesus Christ forgive me for cursing them and myself; for speaking physical and mental sickness over myself, for cursing the successes you have for my life, for turning away from Your purposes over myself and my future generations. I repent of these self-curses and oaths. I renounce all curses by me on others, on myself and come out of agreement with these curses, oaths and destructive words and thoughts. I come out of agreements with all foul spirits, and severe all spiritual ungodly contracts. They have no hold on me. I repent on behalf of those who cursed me and sinned against me. All curses and contracts are canceled by my confessions and my trust in Your promises and Your blood Jesus. I go to the root of these sins, all the way back in my bloodline and cancel them. Satan has no hold on me, all legal rights are canceled. I bless myself and those who hurt me and sinned against me, in the name of Jesus Christ.
I cut every ungodly relationship bond and tie with those who cursed me and declare them severed. I give back what is theirs and take back what is mine I bless them. I keep all godly relationship bonds, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Forgive me for not trusting You and giving You my burden.
God, I ask you to remove any pain or sickness of _______________ associated with this sin. I exercise the authority given to me by You Lord and cast it out now in the name of Jesus Christ.
